This past Saturday night at Modesto Junior College, the Christian Brothers women's volleyball team competed with Escalon for the D3 Sac-Joaquin Section Championship game. Due to the location, Escalon had roughly twice the crowd, establishing an away game environment for Christian Brothers. The CB parents and a handful of students were still able to create a spirited crowd. The Falcons came out hot winning the first set 25-21. The Cougars responded with a 25-17 victory in the second set. The third set belonged to the Falcons, as they took a 2-1 lead following a 25-20 third set win. In a very back and forth fourth set, the Cougars were able to edge out a 25-23 lead, despite the Falcon's comeback efforts. Unfortunately, Escalon maintained the momentum going into the final set, winning 15-11 to clinch the overall victory. The Falcons fought ridiculously hard through the entirety of the game. They handled an unfriendly environment with poise and were able to show why they belonged in the championship game. This loss is not the end of the season, however. The Falcon's section performance earned them the tenth seed in the D2 state playoff. This Tuesday (11/8), the ladies will travel to San Jose to take on the Branham Bruins. Remember to support your Falcons!!!
