Women's Soccer
JV: JV Girls soccer had 2 last home matches against El Camino Fundamental HS and Rio Americano HS.
Tuesday's match against El Camino was successful with a 3-0 win. Lots of players got to get more minutes then usual. Goals were from freshman Angelina Rivera, freshman Courtney Chin and junior Savannah Castillo.
Thursday's match against Rio Americano HS was a tough loss to end the season with a 4-0 loss. Many saves (20) by our goalkeepers who were alternates to our regular goalkeepers who were out sick.
It was a fun, developmental, and learning season for players and coach staff. We had a large roster of 25 players this year which helped with Covid-19 illness and injuries throughout the season.
4 players were invited to move up to Varsity squad for the player. Congratulations to them for their hard work and reward: Juniors Savannah Castillo and Milana Emmitt, Sophomore Kamyrn Lee, and freshman Cassie Dugan.
Varsity: Last week The Lady Falcons had there last 2 league games. First up was El Camino, CB wasted no time defeating the visitors in a 4-1 victory. Leading the night with 2 goals was Senior Grace Cloete (2022), followed by Dana Greer (2024) and Lily Jensen (2023) with a goal a piece. Thursday night was a must win match to claim a co- championship with Vista. CB hosted Rio on Senior Night, this would be our last match of the season. As always Rio came to play. It was a tough match and the score could’ve went either way but, Sophomore Genevieve Muskopf put CB on the scoreboard first with a firecracker of a shot just outside of the box. Rio had there chances but Quality play from Brooklyn Horst (2023), Grace Cloete (2022), Emily Mayes (2023) and Eliana Pellegri (2023) as our defender held Rio off. In the second half CB would put one more goal in as Grace Cloete found the back of the net with a head ball. This would end Rio chances and CB would win 2-0. It was a nice way to honor our Senior, Kristin Lee, Grace Cloete, Eliana Pellegri and Claire LaRocca. The Lady Falcons end the season with a overall record of 13-2-4. Now we prepare for playoff which start this Friday time and place TBD.
