Women's Basketball
Varsity: On 1/18 the Lady Falcons took to the court after a long 10 days off, versus Del Campo. Shaking off some of the rust the ladies came out on top 63-42 with 4 kids scoring double digits. A fantastic team win! With a great defensive showing with 22 steals as a team! Kaia Foster ‘24 led the team with 18 pts, followed by Jada Hunter ‘23 with 12 pts and 10 rebounds, Leah Nelson ‘24 chipped in 11 points and Julia White ‘22 had an amazing stat line of 11 pts, 15 rebounds, and 5 blocks! Senior Jene Wells was also very impressive with 7 points, 9 deflections and 5 steals.
On 1/20 finally hit their home court versus Rio Americano, the defense turned ON and they were held to only 2 points in the first half. Once again another defensive game and team win. CB came away on top 54-11. Leading all scorers Jada Hunter ‘23 with 13 Points and a whopping 10 steals. Kaia Foster ‘24 knocked down 10 points, Leah Nelson ‘24 and Kemani Williams ‘23 chipped in 6 a piece. Props to Jene Wells ‘22 for the defensive effort, her 5 steals and 7 deflections sent Rio into a frenzy!
Playing back to back the ladies took on El Camino in another league match up. Defense was on point again and the team walked away with a a total of 28 steals! Another great TEAM win 83-23 with four girls in double digits again! Jada Hunter ‘23 had 20 points, 5 steals and 7 rebounds! Jene Wells ‘22 had 14 points, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Freshman guard Aleyah Harmon scored 11 points followed by Leah Nelson ‘24 chipped in 10 points, 6 assists. When these girls turn the defense on, they are fun to watch!

JV: This week the JV lady Falcons took on Del Campo and Rio Americano high school. on Tuesday 1/18 the JV lady Falcons defeated Del Campo 42-8! It was an overall team effort to pull out the win! On Friday, The lady Falcons defeated Rio Americano 62-8 at home! Leading the were Sophomores Mia Acosta and Rose Esmeih with 12 points each! The JV Lady Falcons improve to 11-2! Our next game is at Rio Americano on 2/2!
Men's Basketball:
Varsity: The Falcons went 1-1 this week playing Del Campo and Rio. The team played extremely well while facing adversity of Covid issues. Missing several key players for divisional games the Falcons managed to beat Del Campo but lost to Rio on Friday.
Frosh: Another solid week from the Men’s Freshman team as they ran their season record to 15-2 with a 2-0 league week.
The week started with a home game vs Del Campo which saw the depleted Falcons cruise to a 75-43 victory.
Strong games from Steve Williams, Andrew O’Neill, and Eljhae Baines led the way.
Friday night had the Falcons on the road at Rio Americano and resulted in another convincing 70-31 victory.
As is becoming the case, strong games can come from anyone on this team as the Falcons were paced by Isaiah Jordan, Andrew O’Neill, and Sean Romero.
Women's Soccer:
Varsity: This past Tuesday The Lady Falcons traveled to Rio Americano. In the past Rio has managed to make things difficult with ties or last minute wins. CB got the match off to a good start. Freshmen Bailey Rakela (2025) scored quickly to put CB up first. Rio came back to tie the score. Before the end of the first half Sophomore Devin Greet (2024) converted a PK to put CB up 2-1. The second half would see Bailey Rakela (2025) score once more and Junior Lily Jensen would finish Rio off with well placed low shot to the far side of the goal. Defensively CB was in good hands with quality play from Senior Grace Cloete (2022), Senior Kristin Lee (2022) and Junior Brooklyn Horst (2023). Final score CB 4 - Rio 1. On Thursday CB would continue their hard working form with a 7-0 victory over Del Campo. It was a goal fest from the start of the game. First goal came from Sophomore Genevieve Muskopf (2024) followed by 2 goal from Sophomore Devin Greer and 2 goals from Senior Grace Cloete. Freshmen Bailey Rakela (2025) would add in one goal along with Junior Lily Jensen. Next up an away game with Vista Del Lago.
JV: JV girls soccer team had 2 competitions this week on the road, Rio Americano HS and Del Campo HS.
JV girls soccer split with 1 loss and 1 win respectfully. The team has been making some strides for success and identifying their strengths to be continue success.
On Tuesday, Jan 18th, our road game was versus Rio American HS who have always been very aggressive and challenging. The final score was 3-1 loss but we had 2 opportunities in the 2nd half which hit the goalposts and we could have tied the score. Our only goal came from sophomore Kamyrn Lee on a head ball off a corner kick.
On Thursday, Jan 20th, our road game was versus Del Campo HS and the beginning of the 2nd half of the season. CBHS previously had loss to Del Campo HS on Jan 4th so were looking to redeem themselves. Girls came out with more intensity and aggressiveness this time around. Game was controlled mainly on opposing side. Milana Emmitt, goalkeeper, had only needed 4 saves for the shutout victory and the goals came from sophomore Kamyrn Lee in the 1st half and freshman Courtney Chin in the 2nd half. Team had a total of 21 shots on goal.
