Women's Soccer:
Varsiy: CB Varsity Women’s Soccer Team competed at the River City Tournament this weekend.
Their first game Thursday was against the host, River City High School. The score ended in a tie 0-0. This game was the first game the players played together and used this game to find our new system of play 4-2-3-1.
Friday’s game started off a little flat from the players. It was until Peyton McDonald took it down the line and served a ball for Grace Cloete ‘ 22 to hit the net in the last 4 minutes to win the game. With the tie and a win CB had to win their third game in order to advance to the championship game or consolation game in the afternoon.
The third game we challenged the team to step up their game and play short and simple. The challenge was met and the Lady Falcons beat Benecia 3-0 with 2 goals from sophomore Devin Greer ‘24 and a solo goal from junior Elisabeth Ledesma ‘ 23. This win put our Lady Falcons into the consolation game against Pleasant Grove.
Playing for third place was a great test against a good team. CB took the lead first with a goal from freshman Bailey Rakela ‘25. The goals kept coming as sophomore Devin Greer delivered 2 goals to put CB up 3-0. Pleasant Grove did manage to score one goal but CB delivered one more goal from junior Brooklyn Horst ’23 to seal the victory and a third place finish in the River City Tournament. Next up… The Lady Falcons host Vacaville on Monday. 6:00pm kick off.

Men's Basketball:
Varsity:
Men’s Varsity Basketball participated in the Bill Cartwright Classic hosted by Elk Grove this past weekend.
Game 1: The Falcons opened the tournament playing Host team Elk Grove and fought extremely hard but came up short losing 90-72. The Falcons could not over come the 20-0 run put on by Elk Grove mid-way through the 2nd quarter. The Falcons were led by Senior John Marengo who scored 42 points in going shot for shot with the entire Elk Grove Team.
Game 2: The Falcons played Franklin High School where they came out sluggish in turning the ball over and giving up 2nd chance points before finding themselves down double digits going into the half. However, the falcons rallied back in the 2nd half in closing the deficit to 3 points with under 2 minutes to go on a three pointer by Exander Irving-Romero. However, the falcons would end up turning the ball over on their next 2 possessions and committing fouls where Franklin sealed the game with free throws. Falcons lose 58-51.
Game 3: In desperate need of a Win the Falcons played their most complete game of the season with Full Team effort, discipline, and execution against Mountain House. The Falcons once again were led by Senior John Marengo who scored 25 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. The Falcons also got big time 3-point shots from Junior Jake Westman and great inside play from Junior Ben Adam-Munoz who had 11 points and 10 Rebounds. Ball Pressure and offensive execution allowed the Falcons to separate themselves in the second half where they cruised to an 84-68 victory.
The Falcons finally have their 1st Home Game of the Season where they take on the undefeated Burbank Titans tomorrow December 7th.
