Swim:
First, we have to say Thursday swimming was AWESOME at El Camino. It was a bit chaotic, but we had a ton of swimmers get PRs and we won 3/4 of the brackets! Thursday, we found out we won the following:
Varsity girl’s: 69 to 101, CB wins
Varsity boy’s: 79 to 82, CB wins
JV girls’: THIS WAS A NAILBITER. The El Camino team couldn't find the 200 FR relay times, so we had to dispute them and in doing so, we confirmed the final score of 81 to 82, CB wins! We're so proud of you all and, truly, we appreciate you swimmers.
Dive:
We did a meet today to score points against EC. The girls were led by Phifey Boyers as she had a beautiful performance scoring nothing lower than a 6. Second place went to Kate Rueker who is looking more consistent with each passing week. Third was Abby Boyers who never fails to pull out a solid performance and is one of our key players.
On the boys side, Ethan Hindman scored 6 points with his win and will be a formidable opponent as we head into the championship meets.
The diver of the week this week will be Giselle Vasquez who is absolutely fearless and will try anything. She never back down from a challenge and though she had no diving experience coming into the season, she has proved to be very inspirational with her effort. With her motivation and work ethic, she will always be a success.
Men's Volleyball:
JV: JV Men's Volleyball had a matchup against El Camino at El Camino and won the match in 2, first set 25-16 & second set 25-23. In the first set Mack had 2 Aces & 1 Block, Dineen had 1 Kill & 1 Dig, Nguyen had 6 Aces, Marcantonio-Olivia had 3 Kills, Nickson had 1 Kill. In Set 2 Mack had 1 Ace, 3 Kills & 1 Block, Nguyen had 2 Kills & 8 Assists, Davis had 2 Kills, Ryan had 2 Aces & 1 Dig, Kapicka had 1 Kill, Goyette had 3 Digs.
We are looking forward to our next match on Tuesday vs. Vista de Lago at Vista and hosting Bella Vista at home on Thursday and ending our weekend with out Granite Bay Tournament! Go Falcons!
Women's Lacrosse:
Girls Varsity lacrosse fought hard in both games this week despite losing to Saint Francis and Rio. The Rio game was extremely close and the team looks forward to playing them again Monday 3/28 at CB. JV lacrosse rallied hard in their game against Saint Francis, losing by 2 and just running out of time when closing in on the score gap. JV beat Rio 15-1 on Friday, they played great as a team.
Men's Lacrosse:
Men's lacrosse had an eventful week with both JV and Varsity playing tough Jesuit squads at Cristo Rey High School midweek. The week ended strong though, with a Varsity home rematch against Rio Americana. While we had played a scrimmage at Rio with Rio coaches reffing last week, this week the Falcons Varsity overwhelmed the Raiders by a score of 8-5. The CB Defense only gave up one goal in the first half and held strong throughout the game. While the Defense was short on long poles due to injury and illness, seniors Jackson Schlink '22, James Kubish '22 and Bennet Kimble '22 all showed skill and dominance. Co-captain Liam Gough '23 continued to perfect his art of the Face Off, winning 11 of 15 contests. Tuese Rodriguez '22 had his best game in goal to date, much to the appreciation of the vocal crowd. Eight offensive players took shots, with Bradey Tyler '24 landing three of his eight attempts, as Sam Ketcher '22 continued to solidify his role as Assists leader. The Falcons played clean and strong, with a total of 2 minutes of penalties, while the Raiders melted down with a whopping 11 minutes of accumulated penalties. Both JV and Varsity travel to Roseville Wednesday and the Varsity will host Davis Friday night.
