Yesterday, our Christian Brothers Falcons played against the Rio Americano Raiders in the second game of their 3 game series. Both teams had their ace pitchers pitching in hopes to win the game. With CB attempting to tie the series, and Rio attempting to win the series this game was bound to be a competitive one
The game started off quickly for the Raiders as they scored one run in the 1st inning. Following this early score, Jake Tandy ('22) held Rio scoreless through the 3rd inning. In the bottom of the 4th inning, Rio tacked on another run making the score 2-0 entering the 5th inning. This was when the Falcons turned it on offensively. Christian Brothers scored 4 runs and they were contributed by clutch hits from Carter Bolnik('22) and Dylan Drake('23). The Raiders responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game up at 4-4. To start off the 6th, Jake Elorduy ('22) lead off the inning with a single and a stolen base. Nate Teeple('23) then hit Elorduy in putting the Falcons up 5-4 going into the bottom of the inning. Rio responded again, with two of their own taking the lead 6-5. The Raiders held onto that lead, winning with the final score of 6-5. This win made the Raiders winners of the series, however, the Falcons have another chance to win a game in this series this Friday.
CB hosts Rio for the final game of the series this Friday at 4:15 PM at home. Come out and support! Falcons First!!
