The Christian Brothers Falcons played three games over spring break, going 1-2 overall. They started out with a heartbreaking 28-34 overtime loss to rival Jesuit. However, they were able to bounce back with a 76-14 rout of El Camino. The Falcons then lost the potential league championship game to Vista Del Lago 52-34 last Friday.
On the season, quarterback Jake Elorduy ‘22 is 70-104 passing for 1,262 yards. He has thrown 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions while also running for one touchdown. Running back DJ Crowther ‘22 has been Christian Brothers’ most productive player by far, rushing for 627 yards and 10 touchdowns while also taking in 216 receiving yards and 2 touchdown receptions. Jared Wiley ‘23 is the Falcons’ leading receiver with 25 receptions for 499 yards and 4 touchdowns. Bryan Garrett ‘21 has also been a threat in the passing game with 21 receptions for 320 yards and 3 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Lemisio Vaea ‘21 leads the team with 35 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss (TFL). He also has 3 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery.
The Falcons (2-3, 2-1) play their final game of the season this Friday, April 16th against Del Campo. Del Campo comes into the game 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in league. The game is available for streaming on the NFHS website.
