It's time for the 50th anniversary of the annual Holy Bowl! Our Falcons take on the Jesuit Marauders in a heavyweight bout. This past week's Sacramento Bee rankings has CB ranked 7 and the Marauders ranked 6. Both teams are coming off big wins, CB over Sheldon and Jesuit over Granite Bay. Last week's win marked the second win for the Falcons, pushing their overall record to 2-0. Whereas the Marauders are 1-1 with a loss to top ranked, Folsom. The two teams are more eager than ever to play this game, as last years Holy Bowl, coined Holy Bowl 49.5, was an overtime thriller. Holy Bowl 49 marked Christian Brothers first win against Jesuit in 10 years. The theme these past couple years have been close games, often coming down to the final possession. This year we expect nothing less.
The Falcons offense is hoping to carry their momentum from the second half of last weeks game into the start of this one. They will be getting their 3 star runningback, DJ Crowther ('22), back this weekend for the big game as he sat out last week with an ankle injury. Jackson Burleson ('22) stepped up in big ways last week and looks to continue contributing on both sides of the ball. CB's defense also looks to maintain momentum, as they held the Sheldon Huskies scoreless in the second half of last weeks game. With great drive, the Falcons look forward to maintaining their undefeated season.
The game takes place at Hughes Stadium, JV at 5 and Varsity at 7. It's time to sink the ship!! Go Falcons!!
