This past Tuesday our Women's Soccer team took on Vista Del Lago in an intense league matchup. Our girls knew the main goal from kick off was to apply a lot of pressure on the offensive side of the ball. It started off early with a breakaway goal from Devin Greer ('24), however, Vista was not fazed by one goal. Within the next five minutes they came roaring back with a goal of their own, tying it up at 1. Throughout the game, a ton of competitive fire was displayed as the girls from both teams were playing at a very physical pace. With that being said, Devin Greer ('24) broke out for another goal amid the physicality the Eagles were playing with. This goal gave the Falcons tremendous momentum going into halftime with a score of 2-1. In the second half the Falcons knew that defense was going to be the focal point in escaping with a win. With Vista having control of the ball most of the second half, CB was able to steal the ball and score a goal by Lily Jensen ('23) widening the margin from 1 goal to 2 goals (3-1). Vista immediately came back with a goal of their own making the score 3-2 with limited time left. The Falcons were able to execute their main goal at halftime and were able to ramp up the defense when it mattered most. The strength of the backs and midfielders led to a nail-bitter win of 3-2.
With a huge league win the Falcons hope to take this momentum into their away game at El Camino tonight at 6 P.M. Let's go ladies!!
