Sports are back and in the proper season! The Athletic Department cannot thank our coaches enough for all of the hard work and dedication they give to our Student-Athletes! Here is a recap in CB Sports for the week of 8/16/21:
Cross Country:
For the first time in two seasons, CBXC ran its first real cross country meet today at Sierra College in Rocklin. Imagine this…few masks, outdoor races on dirt, rolling hills, and dust…lots of dust. And when that dust settled, CB had shown why they are one of the best D4 teams in the region.
Beginning with the very first race of the day, CB showed they were ready to race. Ninth grade women, led by Elise Perkins (6th Place), set the bar with their first place place team finish. As the meet continued, 9th grade men’s team, led by Alex Potter, finished 4th overall. For the 10th grade women’s team, Tara Cooper finished a very respectable 15:54, finishing 31st overall. Sophomore men ran next with Sam Nealon finishing 11:54 and Reign Saldana close behind at 12:04 over the two mile course. In the Juniors race, Allie Moya led the way for the women (9th overall), while Tyler Simi led the men with his 12:02. He was followed closely behind by Nikos Burciaga (12:32). For the seniors, Sami Bateman led the way with a 12:37 while Senior Natalie Stone led the women with a 15:12 only seven seconds ahead of Paige Hardy.
All in all it was a great day for CB XC and the Falcons Runners!
Next up, a pancake breakfast!
