Last night was the Christian Brothers Baseball Team's senior night. All the seniors walked out with their families and loved ones and were honored before the game. The parents got to throw a first pitch to their children, and stand next to their kids during the national anthem. This was a very meaningful night for not only the seniors but their parents and families.
Although it was senior night, the team still had a job to do and they did a great job of remaining focused and taking care of business. This is the last league series for the Falcons, and if they sweep Vista this week they will win a league title. Jack Soares '23 got the start and was dealing from the jump. He stayed composed and was not affected when runners were able to get on base. Jack went 6 innings striking out 9 batters, only allowing 4 hits and one run. The game was closed out in the 7th inning by Jacob Regacho '24 who recorded the save. On the offensive side, the game got off to a hot start with a Nate Teeple '23 home run in the first inning on the first pitch he saw. Then in the 4th inning after Vista had just tied it in the top half, Josh Lewis '25 came up to the plate with two outs and two runners on. In a 3-2 count, Josh poked a blooper out to right field and was able to secure two RBIs and a 3-1 lead for the Falcons. The pitching and defense was able to hold this lead and the Brothers secured their 18th win of the season.
This was an all around amazing night capped off with a big win. The Brothers travel to Vista on Friday in pursuit of a league title. Be sure to wish them good luck and show your support as they prepare for a huge game tomorrow. Go Falcons!
