Last Monday the Falcons traveled down to Folsom to play the Vista Del Lago Eagles for the second time this season. Although both teams were already in the playoffs, this game was to decide who would be 2nd or 3rd place in league. The first set acted as a warm-up for both teams as the Falcons made less errors than the Eagles in the 1st set and won 25-18. Every set for the rest of the game was very close and was decided by 2 points. In the second set, the Eagles were warmed up and cut down their errors from the first game to win the set over the Falcons 25-23. In the 3rd set the Falcons and Eagles were battling back and forth as each team had a lead, but the Falcons were barely able to edge out the game, getting some clutch points at the end to win 25-23. In the 4th set the Eagles came out strong and took a lead that the Falcons looked like they couldn't come back from. As the match was looking to go to 5 sets, the Falcons made the best run of their season, coming down from 7 to win the set 25-23 and the match 3-1. This game was a battle between two good teams and was a nerve wracking game that came down to the final points fop every set. With the win the Falcons took 2nd place in league and earned the 6th seed in the D3 section playoffs. The Brothers play the Wheatland Pirates at home, so make sure to come on out to cheer on your Falcons as they try to make a run!
